To all those who read this article, Merry Christmas!
Christmas is around the corner and that means parties and social gatherings with co-workers, friends, and families. Of course, at these there will be ample supplies of alcohol and in some cases medical marijuana. Thus, a little reminder is in order. Do not forget, that the Grinch is out there hoping for nothing more than to fatten his bank accounts with your hard earned money by sending his enforcement thugs out to look for, detain, arrest and rob you. Of course, this perversion of logic is all done in the name of those magical mystery phrases, “public good”, “public welfare”, and “public safety”. Never mind that these phrases have no meaning, there are plenty of people, yes even those who are being robbed, who will swallow that yellow pill and support their own destruction.
But, for those of you who simply wish to be let alone, as was intended by the better of our founding fathers, I give you some tips for the holiday celebrations. First, if you drink, or ingest your meds, DO NOT DRIVE. Plan ahead! You can get a hotel within walking distance. You can stay at the home of the one hosting the event. You can host the event yourself, but you should provide plenty of room for overnight guests. You can use a cab, or better yet, UBER, or even a bus to get to and return from the celebration. Or, you can simply have a voluntary designated driver, who will not partake in ingesting alcohol or meds.
Next, do not carry your meds, or open containers in your vehicle. Yes, I hear you, “but it’s legal to carry my meds if they are locked in my trunk”! Well, that may be true, but the Grinch will often have your vehicle searched simply because you have a medical marijuana card. I have seen too often where a person is arrested or cited with possession or illegal transportation of medical marijuana, simply because they are not viewed as fellow human beings, but as some lower form of animal by the Grinch. And of course, the Grinch is not beyond fabricating stories and even evidence, in order to continue to rob you of your money and your dignity. You may recall the MIP State Crime Labs knowingly making false reports to be able to rob those who they otherwise could not?!?!
The Grinch knows it’s the season too, and he’s looking to cash in by taking your money, property and dignity. The worst thing that you could do is try and kid yourself that the Grinch is not alive and well, or that he is not out looking for you, or that you can get around him. Denying the fact that the Grinch exists, or that he can catch you will only lead to your eventual loss of property, money and dignity. If you wish to stop this insanity, don’t deny the facts of reality, DO SOMETHING! By the way, did you vote for freedom this election, or did you vote to deny others their freedom?
If you are confronted by the Grinch’s enforcers, remember that at least for now, we still have that pesky little thing known as the Constitution, which is supposed to protect your rights. True, it is becoming less and less so, but if you do not know your rights, and assert them, then you are the one who allowed the Grinch to take them from you.
DO NOT ANSWER QUESTIONS asked by the Grinch’s enforcers. It is answering questions which gets most people in trouble. Continue to assert that you do not answer questions under your 5th Amendment Rights.
Next, DO NOT CONSENT to a search of your vehicle. Assert your 4th Amendment rights to privacy. I remember a case in law school where a suspect not only allowed, but opened her trunk for the Grinch’s enforcers, so that they could see the drugs in there. You guessed it! If you think because you cooperate with the Grinch that he will leave you alone, you are the fool, not him.
Finally, you must always remember, the denial of your freedoms takes no action on your part. You need only keep silent and do nothing while you are made a criminal. And don’t forget, it’s your own fault if you do nothing.
As always, till next month, keep rolling on.
